Dcn. Michael Slinger Jim Shaver The Rosary Group Ministry prays the rosary for our deceased parishioners at the mortuary the evening before the funeral. The group leads prayer and the rosary on behalf of the family and friends. There are two groups. The women's group administers this ministry when a woman dies and the men's group administers this ministry when a man dies. Purpose: To console the bereaved and pray for the soul of the deceased and fulfill the acts of mercy. Who Belongs: Open to all parishioners who know and love the Rosary and realize the Power of the Rosary. The ministry is especially in need of "younger" volunteers to relieve many of the "old" faithful volunteers who cannot drive after dark anymore due to failing eyesight. The Rosary is prayed at 7:00pm in the evening which is after dark in the winter. How Often Do They Meet: The ministry leaders contact their group when a parishioner dies. |
Dcn. Michael Slinger Jim Shaver El Ministerio del Grupo del Rosario reza el rosario por nuestros feligreses fallecidos en el tanatorio la tarde anterior al funeral. El grupo dirige la oración y el rosario en nombre de la familia y los amigos. Hay dos grupos. El grupo de mujeres administra este ministerio cuando fallece una mujer y el grupo de hombres administra este ministerio cuando fallece un hombre. Finalidad: Consolar a los afligidos y rezar por el alma del difunto y cumplir los actos de misericordia. A quién va dirigido: Abierto a todos los feligreses que conocen y aman el Rosario y se dan cuenta del Poder del Rosario. El ministerio necesita especialmente voluntarios "jóvenes" para relevar a muchos de los "viejos" voluntarios fieles que ya no pueden conducir cuando oscurece debido a que les falla la vista. El Rosario se reza a las 7 de la tarde, es decir, al anochecer en invierno. Con qué frecuencia se reúnen: Los responsables del ministerio se ponen en contacto con su grupo cuando fallece un feligrés. |
