GIVING TREE / HOLIDAY ASSISTANCEEach November, our Church family helps those less fortunate to have a brighter Christmas by selecting an ornament tied on a Tree in the Vestibules of the Church. See the bulletin in November for details. The items are brought to Church, sorted and then distributed. Donations are sent to St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities, Honduras, Holy Spirit Special Religious Education and Needy Parish Families. MINISTRY OF THE WEEK INFORMATIONThe Giving Tree Ministry has existed since 1996. In the last 20+ years, we have given thousands of needy families and charities Christmas joy through generous donations of gifts and money. A few days before Halloween, six volunteers set up and decorate three trees in the church. The tree has five types of ornaments that each represents a charity that needs gifts or monetary donations. One volunteer is needed at each Mass over those next four weekends to replenish the tree ornaments and collect gifts under the trees. Holy Spirit Parishioners typically give over 400 gift items to Catholic Charities. Please contact the Parish Office at 317-353-9404 for more information. |
GIVING TREE / AYUDA NAVIDEÑACada noviembre, nuestra familia de la Iglesia ayuda a los menos afortunados a tener una Navidad más brillante seleccionando un ornamento atado en un Árbol en los Vestíbulos de la Iglesia. Vea el boletín en noviembre para más detalles. Los artículos se traen a la Iglesia, se clasifican y luego se distribuyen. Las donaciones son enviadas a San Vicente de Paúl, Caridades Católicas, Honduras, Educación Religiosa Especial del Espíritu Santo y Familias Necesitadas de la Parroquia. INFORMACIÓN SOBRE EL MINISTERIO DE LA SEMANAEl Ministerio del Árbol de los Regalos existe desde 1996. En los últimos 20 años, hemos dado a miles de familias necesitadas y organizaciones benéficas la alegría de la Navidad a través de generosas donaciones de regalos y dinero. Unos días antes de Halloween, seis voluntarios montan y decoran tres árboles en la iglesia. El árbol tiene cinco tipos de adornos que representan cada uno una organización benéfica que necesita regalos o donaciones monetarias. Se necesita un voluntario en cada misa durante los cuatro fines de semana siguientes para reponer los adornos del árbol y recoger los regalos bajo los árboles.
