A group of 12 visited Texiguat from June 15-22, 2015.  John Evans was to go, but broke some ribs in a biking accident 5 days before departure and decided the pain of travelling on the rough roads of Honduras would be a distraction for the group.  The 12 travellers were:  Fr. Juan Valdes, Christine and John Brokaw, Terry O'Brien, Mary Kate Shanahan, Jim and Megan Bowman, Christopher Edmondson, Teresa Hermosillo, Doris Daves, Cathy Cohoat and Maria Pappas.

Activities included visiting and annointing the sick and elderly in the communities of: San Lorenzo, Yalde, Cunaire, Tierrs Nueva, Santa Lucia, Barrio Nuevo and Joval.  Masses or Adoration Hours and much singing occurred in the afternoons in these villages.  Some of the group remained in Texiguat to teach 4th, 5th and 6th grade students Englis.  This was led by Holy Spirit teacher Cathy Cohoat.

On Saturday, the group travelled back to Tegucigalpa to celebrate the ordination of priests and deacons at the Basillica of Suyapa in the capitol city.  An audience with Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez was enjoyed by the group.  We hope to meet with him again at the National Youth Conference in Indianapolis in November when he celebrates mass with youth from all over the United States.
